Cuban outfielder Lazaro Armenteros could be a week away from becoming the hottest name on the free agent market, with a reported nine teams interested in bidding for his services, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
Armenteros, 16, also known as “Lazarito” is advertised as a five-tool outfielder and is expected to draw interest from a few teams including the Dodgers, Cubs and Braves (who he held a private workout with).
It is thought that he will receive a bonus in the range of $15-20 million.
He’ll be eligible to sign on Feb. 10.
