Free agent pitcher Jonathan Sanchez is set to sign a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pedro Gomez of ESPN reports.
Sanchez, 30, was released last Wednesday by the Pittsburgh Pirates after posting an 0-3 record and 11.85 ERA.
The Dodgers are likely to send Sanchez to Triple-A Albuquerque to work on mechanics, and will serve as added depth to a depleted pitching roster in the minor leagues.
Sanchez’s first start of the season came against the Dodgers April 5. He allowed three runs on six hits in five innings pitched. He struck out four batters and walked one.
