Look for Hanley Ramirez to be back with the Dodgers Monday as the team returns home from a brief five-game road trip to oppose the Padres, which begins a 10-game home stand.
The shortstop is slated to play for High-A Rancho Cucamonga in a rehab assignment stemming from Thursday to Sunday.
Dee Gordon was optioned earlier this week, beginning the process for Ramirez’s return. The move was executed to clear a spot for the returning Jerry Hairston, Jr.
Nick Punto and Luis Cruz will man the position until Ramirez returns.
He has been held to just four games this season after suffering a torn right ligament, diving for a ground ball while playing third base for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic, and then his left hamstring strain suffered upon his return.
He is hitting .455/.500/.909 with a home run and an RBI in 11 at-bats.
